Known as the second easiest route after the Marangu Route, Rongai offers a gradual ascent and a higher success rate for climbers.
This unique route approaches the mountain from the north-east near the Kenya border, providing a true wilderness experience with stunning landscapes, diverse vegetation zones, and incredible panoramic views. From lush forest trails to alpine desert and snow-capped summit, every step offers a new adventure.

Each day of this trek is carefully planned to ensure proper acclimatization, safety, and a successful summit experience on Mount Kilimanjaro.
After arriving at the gate you do registration and meet the whole trekking team who will accompany you throughout the mountain.
Today you will start at an altitude of 2000 metres where you walk for about 6 km for 3 hours. You will enjoy passing through pine vegetation as well as lush forest where colobus monkeys can be seen.
Later in the evening you will reach a t Simba camp where you will have dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Simba Camp
You will take breakfast in the morning there after have a walk of about 16 km of which you will spend around 7 hours.
This pass is close t o Kenya boarder if there is good weather you can see the part of Kenya.
You will reach a t Kikelelwa camp in the late afternoon where you dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Kikelelwa Camp
Today you will cover a short distance, after breakfast you will have a walk of about 3 km of which you will spend around 4 hours.
During this walk you will start leaving the vegetations and during the afternoon when you a t the camp you can easily view the shining Kibo which is very magnificent.
You will have all the meals and overnight at Mawenzi camp.

After breakfast depart t o Kibo camp, you will have t o spend around 5 hours walking.
There are n o much vegetations in this area your aim will b e to reach at Kibo camp for early bedtime for the preparations o f night walk to the summit.
You will reach at Kibo camp at around 15.00 and you will have an early bedtime and make yourselves ready for the summit day.
Accommodation: Kibo Camp
you will be a t the highest point of Africa the summit day. You will wake u p and begin the walk a t the midnight your aim is to reach at the summit in the morning around 7.00.
During the climbing time you will have several reference points; William's Point (5131 metres), Hans Meyer Cave (5258 metres) and then Gillman's Point (5719 metres.
Reaching a t the top is wonderful and therefore you will have time t o congratulate yourselves, celebrate and take some photos.
After all those on the top descend back Kibo and then Horombo camp for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast you descend down for about 20 km walk w e will reach a t Marangu gate in the evening around 16.00 where you will b e presented with you certificate o f climbing to the highest point o f Africa
then the transport will be waiting for you at the gate t o take you to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
